It's weekend then you know it is Kadi Chawal time. Punjabi style Kadi Pakora made just the way my mother makes at home,
Kadhi pakora or kadhi pakoda is a indian dish .It consists of a thick gravy based on chickpea or gram flour to which yogurt is added to give it little sour taste, and contains vegetable fritters called pakoras . It is often eaten with boiled rice or roti. It is considered as a light food.
Pakoda Kadhi Recipe Special Pakoda Kadhi
Ingredients –
For Kadhi-
½ cup gram flour/chickpea flour (besan)
1½ litre water (6 cups)
3 cups curd
salt to taste
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin
2 black cardamom
1 bay leaf
4-5 garlic clove, chopped
3 tsp cooking oil
½ tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tsp ginger , chopped
½ tsp garam masala
1 sliced potato, fried
Handful of fresh coriander/cilantro leaves
For Pakode-
1/2 cup gram flour
½ cup onion
1-2 green chilies
salt to taste
½ tsp red chili powder
1/3 cup curd
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ cumin, roasted
Water as requried
Handful of fresh coriander/ cilantro leaves
Oil for deep frying
For Tadka- 1 tsp oil
¼ tsp asafoetida (heeng)
½ tsp Kashmiri Red chili powder
